Overview
Smooch Promotions puts on club nights across Newcastle upon Tyne — R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and UK garage — at venues including Jalou and Manahatta, with residents Joe Sensation and Sourboy on the decks.
A promoter's website has one job above all: get people to the next night. So the build puts the next event first, gives every night its own page, and sends ticket buyers straight to Fatsoma, where Smooch sells.
What webuilt.
- 01
The next night, front and centre
The home page leads with the upcoming event — artwork, a live countdown, date, venue, prices and a ticket button — before anything else.
- 02
Every event, its own page
Each night has a dedicated page with its line-up, music, times and venue, and every one is listed in the sitemap so search engines can find it.
- 03
Tickets in one tap
Ticket buttons go straight to that event on Fatsoma, so there's no extra step between deciding to go and buying.
- 04
The right image for every screen
Phones and desktops each get their own hero image, preloaded so the right one starts downloading straight away instead of waiting its turn.
- 05
Motion with an off switch
The site moves like the nights do, and a “Pause motion” control lets anyone stop the animation.
- 06
Still works without JavaScript
If scripts can't run, visitors still get the ticket link and Instagram rather than a blank page.

On aphone.
The same pages on a phone, plus a reel from the nights themselves.
